Barishal Zilla School is a prominent educational institution for boys in south-central Bangladesh, with a rich history dating back to its establishment on December 23, 1829. Originally founded as Barisal English School by W. N. Garrett, it began with an initial enrollment of 27 students. In 1853, it was renamed Barisal Zilla School as the British Government assumed its expenses. The school became a pilot project in 1961, undergoing significant expansion.
